Reviews
- 4Good value for moneyJulie - Jan 23, 2016
We have stayed at this hotel a few times and nothing changed. So our expectations are not high. It\'s just a basic, very clean, warm and good value for money place to stay, as a ski base. The bathrooms need totally updating (70\'s style brown, cracked, flowery tiles), toilet barely flushes but did just work, a bidet with no tap (not that I actually wanted one), taps that you had to turn off ultra tight to stop dripping (but again they worked). great shower head but splashed onto the floor etc.etc not enough to complain about but a bit shabby.
The bedrooms are very small. 140 double with ultra clean and soft sheets and nice pillows. Comfy mattress. There\'s no room to pass each other at the end or sides of the bed.
It was good having the use of a safe. Coffee making facilities would be good to have. The double doors opened onto a pleasant balcony with nice views. The room was boiling on the first night because the valve didn\'t work on the radiator but that was fixed the next day.
Wifi reception was good although we were ltd to 2 hours per day and only for one device. However, the next day we were given an unlimited one which was much better but still only for one device which is a little impractical.
Ask for a room facing the mountains. It\'s quieter and the view is spectacular.
The bar restaurant areas are pleasant and the lounge comfortable but again a little dated with flowery sofas. Great views from the lounge and terrace. The downstairs restaurant is fine for breakfast but a bit soul less so wouldn\'t want to eat there in the evening (the half board menus looked adequate though). Breakfasts are self service buffet style and extensive with virtually everything you could possible want. The only criticism (which we have made on every review we have written about this hotel) is that the hot breakfast items are not kept hot. So the fried eggs become congealed and the whole breakfast is luke warm especially on the cold plates. So if this was improved it would be a great breakfast.
The big plus of this hotel are the staff. They are ultra friendly and helpful and the whole place has a sort of small family feel to it.
The facilities are good with free parking, free wifi, ski/boot locker room, lift, maps, games etc.
Book your ski pass through the hotel, we got 5% discount.
It\'s an uphill 100 metre walk to the gondola so we always pay for a locker at the station so we can walk up in our comfy snow boots. The lockers hold up to 5 sets of skis and boots, so if you share it\'s cheap.
The hotel is in a good position for the night life and shops in the town.
Overall, it\'s value for money and we will probably be staying there again next year. - 4.6My opinion about this hotelRobert - Feb 22, 2010
As I traveled with a friend and my daughter, the room was quite tight for 3 skiers, but the bathroom was a comfortable size. The rooms need soundproofing, although the other guests were considerate after 10pm. I agree with other commentary that the hotel staff was the most friendly and accommodating that you can find anywhere. The location can\'t be beat for a hotel at this price, which included a nice breakfast and dinner buffet. For 4.50, they\'ll make you a huge tasty sandwich for a relaxing lunch on the slopes.
