High up the Hottentots Holland mountain range, amongst hectares of indigenous fynbos, and on a most spectacular spot overlooking the breathtaking Cape Peninsula, sits Bezweni Lodge. The Lodge was built in 2006 as the first of two houses on the slope. It is built according the highest standards. Especially the thatch roof is an architectural master piece. In all the rooms the beautiful thatch is visible, creating a true African atmosphere. Due to its earthy tones and thatch roof it blends in with the nature on the mountain area. Our lodge is a haven of peace and tranquility and features four supremely comfortable and spacious rooms. All rooms have sea view terraces, but also oversee the Holland Hottentots Mountains from the en-suite bathroom. Through the semi private patio in front of the room, you have access to the swimming pool with Jacuzzi, the lodge has a lounge with a private dining area and cozy fireplace. On the first floor we have a luxury self-catering family apartment including a beautiful private lounge, fully equipped kitchen and private terrace. In total we have 7 suites available and a self catering cottage, the Fynbos Cottage. The lodge has 5 suites and at the lower Villa we have another 2 suites. These last 2 suites are only available on request or for larger travelling groups. The self catering cottage is located below the Villa, beside the Khoi pond and is completely private. In total we are able to accommodate groups up to 18 guests. All our suites are named after flowers related to the Protea family, of which, the King Protea is the national flower of South Africa. The genus Protea was named in 1735 by Carolus Linnaeus after the Greek god Proteus who could change his form at will. The flower was named after him because they have such different forms. The flowers have their own characteristics, though they have their family similarities. Our suites are all set up in the same style, yet have different decorations and colours, just like the Protea flowers.  Besides the Protea, South Africa is also famous for another plant growing in the fynbos vegetation. The plant is used to make an herbal tea and is called Rooibos. The rooibos tea has been popular in Southern Africa for generations and is now consumed in many countries. Our fabulous complimentary toiletries have the scent of this famous plant and are a refreshing delight in your bathroom.
